Putting phone numbers of people on a wiki is also not good practice. People value their privacy, and I doubt that Edwin has any desire in restarting the Go club. If he would, he could contact me or attend the Go meetups. But as it stands now, they have neither time nor desire to do so. A link to the Wellington Go meetups is more useful than posting those phone numbers.

A wiki is not an archive, nor a phonebook[]

It is not necessary to have old, obsolete information on this page. The Go club doesn't exist anymore. Period. It has been replaced by the Wellington Go Meetups. If you wish to write a page about the history of the Wellington Go club, it should be rewritten completely. Information about at what time the club used to meet is completely useless.

It is perfectly OK for a wiki to have an archival function. The original wiki has numerous history pages, which will probably be copied here eventually. If Edwin and the other former members decide that their information should no longer be here, they can change it. An unknown newcomer can hardly expect to get priority over established members of the NZGS.
I have no problem with adding links to the meetups, as you will have noticed. But it is not affiliated to the NZGS and was not the group that held a well-attended Wellington championship recently.

Ok, have it your way. This "unknown newcomer" (who attended several Wellington go club meetings a few years ago until it died) will just keep organising the only regular Wellington go events there are and play go instead of arguing over the wiki. Enjoy running it on your own, and please try not to alienate any more go enthusiasts and professional players alike.
